Transparency Defined: The difference

Built With Intention: What Sets Ash & Evermore Apart

In a world where handmade soap has become increasingly popular, not all bars are created with the same philosophy.

At Ash & Evermore, we believe that what goes into a bar matters just as much as what it looks like when it’s finished. Behind every design, every scent, and every name is a commitment to authenticity—both in formulation and in craft.

This is where we differ.

🧪 True Soapmaking vs. Melt & Pour

There are many ways to create soap, but not all methods are the same.

Some makers use what is known as melt and pour—a pre-made soap base that is melted down, colored, fragranced, and poured into molds. It is a valid craft, but the formulation itself is already complete before the maker ever touches it.

At Ash & Evermore, we do not use melt and pour.

Every bar we create begins from raw oils and lye, going through the full process of saponification. This allows us complete control over the formulation—how the bar feels, how it lathers, how it lasts, and how it performs on the skin.

We are not simply shaping soap.

We are building it from the ground up.

🌿 Ingredient Integrity

One of the most overlooked differences in artisan soap lies in how ingredients are used—and how they are presented.

It is not uncommon to see soaps marketed around premium ingredients such as tallow, butters, or specialty oils… while those ingredients are only included in very small percentages. Just enough to be listed. Just enough to be part of the story.

We take a different approach.

At Ash & Evermore, we do not include ingredients for the sake of marketing. We include them because they are essential to the structure and performance of the bar.

If it’s listed—it matters.

🖤 Built Around Tallow, Not Decorated With It

Tallow is one of the defining ingredients in our formulations.

Not as an afterthought.
Not as a minor addition.
But as a foundation.

Our base recipes are built with 30% or more tallow, forming the backbone of the bar. This is what gives our soap its:

Hardness and longevity

Creamy, stable lather

Skin-compatible conditioning feel

We don’t “feature” tallow.

We build around it.

The same philosophy extends to every oil and butter we use. Each ingredient plays a real role in the final product—contributing to performance, not just label appeal.

🔥 Formulation Over Hype

It is easy to create something that looks good.

It is much harder to create something that performs beautifully from the first use to the last.

Our focus has always been on balance:

Cleansing without stripping

Conditioning without heaviness

Longevity without compromise

This comes from understanding the chemistry behind soap—not just the aesthetics.

Every bar is formulated with intention, not assembled for appearance alone.

🕯️ Small Batch, Full Control

Because we make our soap from scratch, we maintain complete control over every batch.

We are not limited by pre-made bases.
We are not confined to preset formulations.

This allows us to:

Adjust and refine recipes

Match ingredients to scent profiles

Create soaps that are both visually striking and functionally superior

And because we work in small batches, every pour receives the attention it deserves.

⚖️ Transparency Without Illusion

We believe that customers deserve clarity.

If an ingredient is present, it should serve a purpose.
If a soap is marketed a certain way, it should reflect the truth of its formulation.

We don’t rely on trends or inflated claims.

We rely on craftsmanship.

🌑 The Difference You Can Feel

At the end of the day, the difference is not just in how our soaps are made—

It is in how they are experienced.

The way they lather.
The way they last.
The way they leave the skin feeling afterward.

These are not accidents. They are the result of intentional formulation, real ingredients, and a refusal to cut corners.

🖤 Our Standard

We don’t create for shortcuts.
We don’t create for appearances alone.

We create with purpose.

Every oil matters.
Every percentage matters.
Every batch reflects the same standard.

Because at Ash & Evermore, we don’t just make soap—

We build it.
